Lies of opposition rejected, BJP to win in Kedarnath bypoll: BJP

Voters in the Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha constituency do not yet have candidates either from the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Congress to choose from. However, both the national parties claim to be confident of a victory. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt has said that the people will elect the BJP candidate based on the unprecedented works done by the State government in the constituency.
Talking to the media persons at the party’s State office on Thursday, he said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has fulfilled all promises made to the local public as a representative of the late MLA Shaila Rani Rawat. Stating that the fog of casteist and religious politics has been cleared, he said that the BJP will win on the basis of development and heritage, which the people are focusing on. Appreciating the Dhami government for its stance on ‘spit Jihad’, Bhatt said that members of the Muslim community should also come forward and expose elements indulging in such acts.
Bhatt said that the BJP’s State unit has sent the panel of potential candidates to its central parliamentary board and the central leadership of the party will soon declare the name of its Kedarnath candidate. Final touches are being given to the list of star campaigners and the party’s strategy for the election campaign. The BJP had initiated its efforts about two months ago with the formation of election management groups in the constituency, he added.
Bhatt said, “The Dhami government did unprecedented work in the disaster-affected Kedar valley. The CM had promised the people of Kedarnath that he will work as their MLA till a new representative is elected in place of the late Shaila Rani Rawat. It is a matter of happiness for the locals and the party that the CM did work in the constituency which would otherwise have taken decades. Despite the disaster, there is no work which the locals may find lacking,” Bhatt claimed.
Targetting the rivals of the BJP, he said that the opposition coalition had used lies and confusion to spread a political fog during the Lok Sabha elections but this has been cleared now. “The people of Haryana and Jammu have rejected the politics played by the opposition on casteism, communal issues and aspects of reservation and the constitution. They approved the developmental politics under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and today, the BJP along with its partners is governing 18 States in the nation. Based on this positive trust of the public, we will win not only the Kedarnath Assembly bypoll but also the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections,” the BJP State president said.
