Pronouncing punishment for the two former constables of Provincial Armed Constabulary convicted in the infamous Rampur Tiraha molestation and loot case- Milap Singh and Virendra Pratap Singh-the Muzaffarnagar additional district judge court awarded life-imprisonment to both. Notably, the court had held the duo guilty a few days ago. In addition to this, the court slapped fines of Rs 40,000 on each. Notably, when the Uttarakhand statehood movement was at its peak the incident occurred at Rampur Tiraha in Muzaffarnagar. Seven people were killed and many women were molested by police when they were going to Delhi to press for the State formation demand on October 1, 1994.
