Light rain and snowfall likely in higher reaches of two districts today

Very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places in higher reaches of two districts of the State today. The much awaited winter rain and snowfall have been missing in Uttarakhand this season which is likely to affect agriculture, horticulture and other aspects. However, according to the State meteorological centre, light rain/snowfall may be experienced at isolated places in the higher reaches of Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Saturday while the rest of the State will experience dry weather. Apart from this, moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of the plains especially in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to experience mainly clear skies with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 22.2 degrees Celsius and 5.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 24.4 degrees Celsius and 1.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14.6 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.4 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
