Light rain in mountains, dry conditions in plains likely today

After intermittent spells of heavy rainfall in various parts of the State during the past week, some relief is likely from downpours on Monday. The State meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rainfall/thunderstorms which are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State on Monday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of Uttarakhand today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy skies. Thunder cloud development and light rainfall is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Monday.

Meanwhile the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 31.3 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31.6 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.2 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Mussoorie received 33 millimetres of rain while there was 24 millimetres in Dwarahat, 9.5 millimetres in Kedarnath and 8.5 millimetres in Sonprayag on Sunday.
