Even as some parts of the state received light rainfall and Dehradun experienced cloudy skies on Sunday, the state meteorological centre has forecast the likelihood of very light to light rain/snowfall at isolated places especially in higher reaches in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Monday. While snowfall is likely to occur in places situated at altitudes of 3,000 metres and above, dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts of the state.
The provisional state capital Dehrdun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures here are likely to be around 20 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively on Monday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the state on Sunday were 17.9 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21 degrees Celsius and 6.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 8.9 degrees Celsius and 0.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, and 10 degrees Celsius and 2.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
