Following rainfall being experienced consistently for two days in the post-afternoon period, snowfall has also started in high altitude areas of Chamoli district. Light snowfall was experienced in the Lokpal area where the historic Lakshman temple and Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara are situated. The pilgrimage to these shrines is continuing amidst the light snowfall. The Gurudwara manager Sewa Singh said that despite the light snowfall experienced here, the stream of visitors to the Gurudwara has remained steady. The snowfall has also resulted in a noticeable drop in the temperature in the region.
