The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has claimed that the Congress candidates will register victory in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttarakhand. He told The Pioneer that the workers of the Congress party were very enthusiastic and they worked very hard for the party candidates. He said that local issues such as Agnipath scheme for recruitment in armed forces, Ankita Bhandari murder case, Joshimath subsidence and unemployment were on the minds of the people during the polls and the BJP candidates will have to pay the price in the elections. Mahara added that the programmes organised by the State unit of the party in which he toured all parts of the State before the elections created groundwork for the party candidates in the LS elections. He claimed that the voting percentage of BJP has decreased substantially in Uttarakhand; it will be reflected in the defeat of BJP candidates in the State.
