The portals of the Lokpal Laxman Temple, situated at an elevation of 4.632 metres in Chamoli district, opened for devotees on Friday amid traditional rituals and chanting of Vedic mantras for a four-month pilgrimage season. A large number of locals gathered and paid obeisance to Lord Laxman. Importantly, the portals of Hemkund Sahib, the revered shrine of the Sikhs, will be opened for darshan on Saturday.  Devotees from both Sikh and Hindu communities throng this gurudwara in large numbers during the summer pilgrimage.

Notably, special prayers had been offered at the Laxman temple by the villagers of Pulna on Thursday, while on Friday the first batch left for Hemkund Sahib from Govind Ghat.
