In latest news from Uttarakhand, the the idol of Lord Kedarnath has been installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, the winter abode of the Lord, amidst performance of traditional rituals and offering of prayers. The procession carrying the idol of the Lord on way to Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath from Kedarnath was greeted at several locations by the villagers, priests and students. Villagers in large numbers gathered at the winter abode of the deity and offered puja. As per the traditions, the chief priest of the Kedarnath Dham known as Rawal will assume the form of ‘Bolanda Kedar’ or talking Kedar and travel to his native State Karnataka and other States while propagating the greatness of the Lord Kedar and inviting all for pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham.
