LS adjourned, too; PM tears into Opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a blistering attack on the Opposition, saying that those who were being rejected repeatedly by people at the hustings were trying to control Parliament by resorting to hooliganism. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha proceedings like those of RS were adjourned till November 27 after the Congress- backed by the Left and some regional parties- stalled the Lower House’s proceedings on the demand of constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe the US court’s indictment of the industrialist Gautam Adani on solar power contract bribery case.
Addressing reporters ahead of the start of the Winter Session, Modi said that a handful of rejected individuals were taking recourse to disruptive acts for narrow political gains. There should be a healthy debate in the Parliament instead, he added.
The Parliament’s winter session that commenced on Monday is scheduled to continue till December 20.
