In latest news from Uttarakhand, the dates of the reopening of the portals of two revered shrines-Madmaheswar, known as second Kedar, and Tungnath, known as third Kedar,-were announced on the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi. While Madmaheswar shrine will be thrown open for the devotees on May 21 Tungnath’s portals will open on May 2.
The dates were announced from the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath. Notably, the annual Char Dham Yatra is commencing this year on April 30 with the portal opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines.
