In latest news from Uttarakhand, the mahamandaleshwara of the Juna Akhada Pilot Baba breathed his last in Mumbai. He was 86. The Akhada Parishad deeply mourned the ascetic’s death. Before renouncing life and embracing sanyasa in 1974, he was a pilot of the Indian Air Force and took part in three wars-1962, 1956 and 1971-as wing commander. He was anointed the mahamandaleshwara in 1998. As per his last wish, his Samadhi will be done in Haridwar.
