In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the mercury in the political barometer shooting up in the State ahead of the April 19 polling, the State Congress president Karan Mahara hit the campaign trail in Almora-Pithoragarh constituency areas for the party candidate Pradip Tamta. He addressed a slew of roadshows in places like Ranikhet, Tarikhet and Bhatrojkhan. Street plays were also performed by party activists by way of canvassing votes for the principal opposition party in the State.
Mahara and Tamta in their speeches took potshots at BJP, alleging that the Modi government remained engaged in promoting the interest of some capitalists while sending the youth into despair stemming from the fear of joblessness.
