The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has made an appeal to all sections of the society to make the Bharat Bandh on February 16 a success. He said that the All India Congress Committee has given a call of Bharat Bandh in support of the demand of Minimum Support Price (MSP) of farmers, against increasing unemployment and anti people policies of the union government.
He asked all the district and mahanagar presidents, block and nagar committees, frontal organisations, office bearers of Kisan Congress, cells and constituents of INDI Alliance to actively participate in the bandh. He also appealed to the students, youth, unemployed, pensioners, small traders, truck drivers and journalists to extend their support to the Band call. He said that the ten years of the Narendra Modi government will be registered as the period of cruelty and exploitation of the farmers. He said that the union government has converted New Delhi into a Police cantonment and the BJP governments of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have started suppressing the voice of justice raised by the farmers by use of brutal force. Mahara said that the BJP government has got frightened by the unity and resolve for justice shown by the farmers and has converted Delhi into a fortress.
