Mahara terms Nadda’s U’khand visit disappointing

Tuesday, 29 AUGUST 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Terming the recent visit of the Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda as disappointing, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said that he didn’t utter a single word about the Ankita Bhandari murder case. He said that big claims were being made about the visit of Nadda but he only patted the back of a government which is mired in corruption, pathetic law and order conditions and rampant unemployment.

The PCC president said that it is surprising that Nadda said nothing about the natural disaster in Laksar and Roorkee in Hardiwar district. The BJP president could not muster tge courage to meet the affected families of Haridwar during his visit to the city.  Taking a dig at Nadda’s claim that the BJP will win in all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand, Mahara said that he must remember that BJP was defeated in the Assembly election of 2022 in Himachal Pradesh which is his home State. He said that though the BJP president talked about ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’, the BJP believes in the policy of divide and rule.

The PCC president said that the double-engine government has failed in Uttarakhand and the wheels of development have come to a halt. The members of the ruling party are involved in the corruption in recruitment process and when the unemployed tried to register their protest they were beaten mercilessly by the police, Mahara said.
