The State Panchayati Raj Minister Satpal Maharaj, who is also BJP’s star campaigner, while canvassing for votes in Durg Lok Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, said that the State has been witnessing unprecedented development under the 10 years’ tenure of the Narendra Modi government. “The State has been progressing at a good pace under the development vision of the PM and the State’s dynamic chief minister,” he said.
“Modi government has pulled Chhattisgarh out of the BIMARU list and has been providing free food to the poor since the time of Covid pandemic. The Central Government has provided new water connections to 1,93,321 out of 3,39,471 households in Durg parliamentary constituency under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Besides, under PM Kisan Yojana, Rs 176.11 crore was paid to 2,90,076 farmers in instalments,” he said.
He also hailed the Modi government’s initiatives aimed at facilitating economic prosperity of all sections of the society and massive infrastructure connectivity. “The BJP government in the State is working for an inclusive growth of the State by taking along all sections of people, including Sahu, Kurmi and Satnami among others,” he added.
Referring to the work being done by the Uttarakhand government for the empowerment of Panchayats, he said that under the guidance of Prime Minister and the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the panchayati raj institutions were being further empowered through handing over all the 29 subjects mentioned in the panchayati raj institutions act. “We are moving towards transferring funds, personnel and functions of the 29 subjects to the Panchayats to ensure localisation of Sustainable Development Goals and appropriate resolution of local challenges at the local levels,” he said.
Further, invoking the Ramayan’s connection with Chhattisgarh, Maharaj urged the people of the land that houses Lord Ram’s maternal home to vote for the BJP, adding that thanks to the Modi government’s initiatives, the flag of sanatan dharma is now fluttering across the world.
