Maharaj directs officials to expedite asset distribution between UP & U’khand

Participating virtually in a meeting convened to discuss the division of assets and liabilities between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the State Irrigation minister Satpal Maharaj said that an agreement had been reached in the earlier meeting of the chief secretaries of both the states to transfer a total of 660.182 hectares of land of Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat to Uttarakhand. “But till now, no progress has been made in this regard,” he said and directed the UP officials to issue a government order.  
A high-level meeting was held between the officials of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Irrigation departments on Wednesday at the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation department guest house in Haridwar. It was discussed and agreed that a proposal would be sent to the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation department to provide land for opening a block under the control of Uttarakhand Irrigation department for transfer of land in Banbasa.
