Maharaj discusses preservation of the ancient temples in Uttarakhand with ASI

Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj has called for the preservation of the ancient temples in Uttarakhand. He stated this in a meeting with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials to discuss the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission.
Maharaj hosted the meeting at the Uttarakhand Sadan in New Delhi with ASI director general Yaduvir Singh Rawat and other key officials in attendance. He emphasised the cultural and religious significance of Uttarakhand’s ancient temples and talked about the need for their meticulous conservation under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission. He said that these temples are not just architectural marvels but also hold immense spiritual value, attracting pilgrims and tourists from across the country. He urged ASI to prioritise the restoration and preservation of these structures to ensure their legacy for future generations.
He also discussed the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission in detail which is a project aimed at revitalising and protecting the rich heritage of Uttarakhand’s historic temples, as per Maharaj. He stated that this project is a key initiative by the Uttarakhand government, aimed at creating a network of heritage temples to boost tourism and preserve the State’s cultural identity. He reiterated his commitment to safeguarding Uttarakhand’s ancient heritage and ensuring the temples remain integral to the State’s tourism and spiritual landscape.
