In latest news from Doon, the State Watershed Management minister Satpal Maharaj launched the Watershed Abhiyan Yatra while exhorting the people to store water as much as possible for domestic consumption and irrigation purpose. He ascribed the continuous migration from the hills partly due to the diminishing farm productivity caused by drying up of natural water sources. “To address these issues, the State government has been making continuous efforts for rainwater conservation and revival of water sources,” he said while inaugurating public awareness campaign in Niranjanpur.
