In latest news from Dehradun, while conveying his best wishes to the pilgrims on the commencement of Char Dham Yatra, the State tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj said that the State government has taken a slew of measures to make this season’s Char Dham Yatra more secure and smoother. He mentioned the State level control room set up at Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board headquarters in Dehradun which would operate round the clock during the entire period of the yatra. Besides, token system has been introduced to facilitate smooth and fast darshan. He appealed to the pilgrims to collect information about weather condition before embarking on the yatra and follow the State government-issued guidelines during the yatra.
Maharaj further said that the tourism department has made arrangements for online and off-line registration under the Tourist Security Management System for the safety and monitoring of passengers and vehicles coming on the yatra. EV charging stations have been set up by the Union transport ministry with the help of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam on the Chardham Yatra route, he added.
