Maharaj hails passage of Waqf Amendment Bill as historic & minority- friendly

Lauding the passage of Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 in the Parliament, the State Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj said that this signified a victory for Indian democracy. He further said that it would serve the Muslim community people, too. “I believe that with the passing of this bill, the government will introduce welfare schemes for the Muslims, especially for underprivileged Muslims, women and children,” he said. He congratulated the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Union Minority Affairs Minister for initiating the passage of the bill.
Stating that the
Wakf Board had become the private property of some people, Maharaj said that those who were running it would sell land worth crores of rupees in collusion with land mafias. “
The bill will definitely boost transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties which will lead to their better use and prevent their misuse,” he opined.
Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said that they were trying scare the Muslim people into consolidating them as their vote bank. “The Narendra Modi government will continue to serve people irrespective of whether they are Hindus and Muslims,” he said.
