Maharaj inaugurates projects worth Rs 88.73 lakh in Roorkee

The State public works, tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj inaugurated a slew of development projects worth Rs 88.73 lakh at a programme organised in Ramlila Ground in Roorkee. He distributes Mahalaxmi kits to nine women beneficiaries on behalf of the women and child development department, cheques to five beneficiaries from Chief Minister Relief Fund on behalf of the revenue department, insecticide kits/spraying machines to five beneficiaries on behalf of the horticulture department, funds to three self-help groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission and loans with interest to 17 beneficiaries under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kalyan Yojana.
The minister also addressed the public hearing programmes and spoke of the development projects he had inaugurated in details. It is learnt that during the public hearing programme, 106 applications were received out of which 73 were redressed on the spot and for the rest, the minister instructed the officers concerned to redress at the earliest.
Among those present on the occasion were the Roorkee MLA Pradip Batra, the former Jhabrera MLA Deshraj Karnwal, Haridwar district panchayat president Kiran Chaudhary and Roorkee BJP president Sobharam Prajapati.
