While releasing the BJP manifesto for Roorkee on Thursday ahead of the civic body election slated on January 23, the senior party leader and the State cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj urged the people to vote for the BJP candidates to facilitate triple engine development for the town under the guidance of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. To buttress his point, he recounted a slew of projects like the laying of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway lines, jobs given to a record number of 19,000 skilled youths in three years and 30 per cent reservation for women in government services. He also mentioned reservation for the Statehood activists and their dependents in government services and other women empowerment projects rolled out by the State government.
Among those present on the occasion was the mayoral contender for Roorkee municipal corporation election Anita Devi Agarwal.
