In latest news from Dehradun, the State panchayati raj and rural development minister Satpal Maharaj has suspended the Udham Singh Nagar district panchayat raj officer (DPRO) Ramesh Chandra Tripathi with immediate effect. This step came after the vigilance team caught him red-handed while taking bribe. The minister ordered investigation into the matter along with suspending the officer. The minister reiterated the State government’s uncompromising stand on building corruption-free Uttarakhand, adding that the officers to be found indulging in corruption and taking bribes would not be spared under any circumstances.
