Tourism, Culture and Public Works minister Satpal Maharaj visited Kedarnath and Badrinath on Tuesday. After offering prayers along with his wife and former cabinet minister Amrita Rawat, he inspected the construction works in the two temple townships and also interacted with the pilgrims, Teerth Purohits and officials in Kedarnath and Badrinath.
After paying obeisance to the lord in Kedarnath, the minister checked the reconstruction works and arrangements for the pilgrimage. He also listened to the suggestions made by the pilgrims.Greeting the personnel on duty, he also met the members of the Teerth Purohit fraternity. During the afternoon, Maharaj visited Badrinath where he offered prayers to the lord. People of Bamni village and Teerth Purohits submitted a memorandum to the minister seeking construction of a road in the village. The minister assured them that their memorandum will be communicated to the Prime Minister’s office and the issue will be resolved. Checking the arrangements for the pilgrimage, Maharaj also exhorted the officials to work efficiently to make the pilgrimage convenient and safe for the pilgrims. Along with Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, he also sought information about the works under the Badrinath master plan.
