Maharana Pratap Sports College dominates day 1 of SFA championship

The second edition of Sports For All (SFA) championship commenced in Dehradun on Wednesday. On the opening day of the event, the students of Maharana Pratap Sports College dominated the proceedings with eight medals in athletics.
Tinu of the sports college bagged the gold medal in the U-12 boys long jump by recording a distance of 4.07 meters. His schoolmate, Samarth Kumar claimed silver medal with 3.61 meter distance while Happy Home Montessori School’s Akarsh Negi secured bronze medal.
In the U-6 girls 50 meters dash, Oshin came first with a timing of 11.507 seconds while Ditya Goswami of Touch Wood School (12.843 ) and Prakrti Krishnan (13.866 ) of Arcadia school won silver and bronze medals respectively. Mayank Rathour and Abhijeet Singh were the two other gold medallists for Maharana Pratap Sports College. Mayank secured the top spot in the boys U-18, 3000 meter race while Abhijeet won the boys U-14 shot put.
Samarth Kumar (U-12 boys long jump), Ankur Pal (boys U-18, 3000 mts), Anmol Pandey (boys U-16 shot put), Faizan Ikhalak (boys U-14 shot put) won silver medals for Maharana Pratap Sports College.
The seven day long tournament is being organised in five venues, Pavilion Ground, Parade Ground, The Tons Bridge School, Maharana Pratap Sports College and Social Baluni Public School in Dehradun.
