To discuss and resolve various problems, particularly deplorable roads, being faced by the industrial units operating in

Mahuakhera Ganj in Kashipur under Udham Singh Nagar district, the mayor, Kashipur Municipal Corporation, Deepak Bali chaired a meeting held with the functionaries of  Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( KGCCI ). A number of senior officers and engineers from several departments and the civic body aside from entrepreneurs were present.

Addressing the meeting, the KGCCI president, Pawan Agarwal said that due to the pathetic condition of the roads in the industrial area of Mahuakhera Ganj,  the rain water gets collected on the roads during the rainy season and negatively affect  their production process. He also raised the issue of the lack of streetlights near the industrial establishments. “The industrial workers face extreme difficulties while commuting at night.  Besides, potholed stretches are prone to accidents. Both the    two–wheeler riders and pedestrians are suffering,” Agarwal added.

Speaking of the problems they are facing, the zonal chairman of Mahuakhera Ganj KGCCI, Gaurav Jain said that the frequent power outages   in the industrial units are affecting production too.

Agarwal further informed that in addition to power outages, industries are also facing the problem of low voltage.  “Due to power cuts, shutdowns, low voltage and tripping, expensive, sensitive equipment quickly deteriorates, resulting in significant financial losses for  its replacement . On the other hand, industries are unable to operate at full capacity thanks to these problems,” he added.

The mayor assured the entrepreneurs, saying that he would go all-out to solve the problems they have been facing.
