Major general Sanjeev Khatri assumed charge as the general officer commanding of Uttarakhand Sub Area on Tuesday. An alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, the general is also an alumni of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow. He is a Master of Science, Master of Philosophy and holds Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management.
Major general Khatri is an expert in mountain warfare, counter insurgency and counter terrorism who has held varied command, instructional and staff appointments in his career so far. An avid reader and a keen sportsman, he represented the services in squash. According to Khatri his priority would be to successfully guide the army’s efforts that would be entrusted to him and maintain close coordination with veteran fraternity while also maintaining cordial relationship with the state administration.
