Make appointments to 1,071 vacant posts under NHM- Dhan Singh

The State Health department would soon start a drive for appointments to 1,071 vacant posts under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Uttarakhand. The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat presided over a review meeting of the NHM in the health directorate on Wednesday. In the meeting the minister expressed surprise over the large number of vacant posts in the NHM and directed the officers to fill all these positions within a month. These posts would be filled on outsource. He said that in order to remove the shortage of the technicians and para- medical staff, it is necessary to fill all the posts sanctioned under the NHM.
The minister stated that a Health Awareness Campaign would be launched in the state from September 6. The campaign would end on October 2 and is aimed to ensure that health services are accessible for everyone. Under the campaign more than 1000 Community Health Officers (CHO) would visit different parts of the state and do health checkups of the people. They would also earmark the patients of TB and cataract and provide information about Ayushman Yojana, Tobacco and TB free Uttarakhand and other schemes of the health department.
In the meeting the Minister also took a district wise review of the different schemes with the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) and District Project Managers of NHM of Kumaon region. He directed that all the construction works in the districts should be expedited. He curtly told the CMOs that the work execution agencies failing to work as per the DPR should be changed. The minister directed that the Utilisation Certificates (UC) of the ongoing construction works should be provided every month to the directorate and the State administration.
The meeting was attended by the Director General (DG) state health services, Dr Shailja Bhatt, additional secretary Amandeep Kaur, director Vinita Shah, director Kumaon Dr Tara Arya, director NHM Dr Saroj Naithani, director medical education Dr Ashutosh Sayana, CMOs and DPMs of all districts.
