Make roads pothole-free by Nov 30 or face consequences: CM

In latest news from Doon, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Public Works Department (PWD) officers during a review meeting to see to it that all roads across the city are made completely pothole-free by November 30. He also asked the secretary PWD and other circle officers to conduct physical inspection of the roads regularly. He also warned that in case all the roads are not made pothole-free by the stipulated time or if any employee or officer is found negligent in duty, he would be suspended on the spot. The CM further said that he may conduct a surprise inspection of the roads any day, any time. He said that his order applies to both the Smart City works and the roads in the interior areas of the city and stressed that the road- repairing works and patchworks must be done on a war footing and most of such works should be done in the night. Moreover, Dhami said that the secretary PWD would be made the nodal officer to check the quality of the roads being made now and added that the officers concerned should ensure that all the dividers, reflectors and signage lightings are in good order.
