Make State’s roads pothole-free within a month after monsoon: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to ensure that all the roads in the State should be made free from potholes within a month after the end of the monsoon. He said that construction works in mountainous regions should be executed according to the carrying capacity. Chairing a meeting with senior officials on Thursday, Dhami said that all construction works should be expedited after monsoon with a special focus on quality. Regarding the Kanwad Mela set to start in a few days, he directed officials to complete all arrangements for safety while also laying focus on better facilities for sanitation, drinking water, health and maintaining the desired level of sanitation on the Ghats.
The CM said that vacant spaces should be identified for improving parking facilities in tourist locations. He said that the desired level of maintenance should be ensured in government guest houses which are not in a good condition. Better facilities should be provided to those staying in the guest houses. Dhami also directed the officials to lay special focus on increasing the Goods and Service Tax collection. There should not be any GST evasion in the State and if needed, a campaign should be undertaken for this purpose, he said.
