A man in a live-in relationship with a woman in the Piran Kaliyar area near Roorkee in Haridwar district allegedly murdered her 12-year old son. The police are trying to ascertain the fate of the boy and also checking the Gangnahar canal as in such cases here, people generally dump bodies in the canal. Initially when the woman complained to the police, she said that the accused was her elder son but later under questioning she informed that he was her live-in partner.
Muskan and her son Ayaan were living along with her partner Kasif in a rented accommodation in the Kaliyar area. She phoned the police and claimed that her elder son got drunk and started abusing her on Saturday. She left him and her younger son at home and went to the nearby dargah. When she returned home on Sunday, she found it empty. After she approached the police and the investigation was started, the woman told them that Kasif was not her elder son but her live-in partner.
The superintendent of police (Rural) Swapna Kishore Singh said that a case has been registered on the basis of the woman’s complaint. CCTV camera footage checked during the investigation showed Kasif carrying a bundle on his head though the contents of the bundle are not known. The accused had reportedly called a relative of Muskan and told him that he had killed her younger son. The police are trying to ascertain the fate of the missing boy and also searching for the main accused.
