A case of alleged land fraud has come to light in which a man accused his business partner and the land owner of cheating him of Rs 87.5 lakh. Ajit Kumar, a resident of Adhoiwala, filed the complaint against Sanjay Kumar Rawat, Poonam Rawat and Vijay Rawat.

As per the complainant, he and his partner Sanjay Kumar Rawat had signed an unregistered sale agreement on June 26, 2024 with one Neerja Dhankar for the purchase of a piece of land in Dhanaula area of Dehradun. The total deal was worth Rs 1.75 crore, out of which Ajit claimed to have paid Rs 87.5 lakh.

Ajit alleged that the land owner had already made another deal for part of the same land with a different buyer but he had been kept in the dark at the time of the agreement. Later, a dispute started when Ajit and his partner visited the land and found other people claiming rights over it. A civil case related to the property was also filed in court and is currently pending.

The complainant further alleged that his partner Sanjay Rawat had later made a secret agreement with Neerja Dhankar and got a sale deed prepared in his own name and in the names of his family members. Ajit claimed that he had come to know about this secret deal when he found some related documents in the sub-registrar office in Dehradun.

Ajit Kumar has accused Neerja Dhankar, Sanjay Rawat, his wife Poonam Rawat and his brother Vijay Rawat of cheating and threatening him as part of a premeditated conspiracy. Police have registered the complaint and started an investigation.
