A person was beaten to death in Kashipur after a fight broke out among some youth in a Holi party on Wednesday. Police teams have been constituted to nab all the culprits. Police said that according to the information received so far, some people were dancing to a DJ on the occasion of Holi in Kharakpur Devipura area of Kashipur, when a heated argument broke out between them.
A man Naresh, who was dancing nearby, tried to intervene to diffuse the altercation but the people involved in the brawl allegedly started thrashing him with sticks causing serious injuries. The police said that the victim was immediately taken to a local government hospital for the treatment where doctors termed his condition to be quite serious and referred him to another hospital where he died during the treatment. The police sent the body for post-mortem.
Family members and relatives of the deceased who were enraged by the incident created a ruckus on the main road for hours and started demanding justice from the police. They went home after senior police officials assured them that all the culprits will be caught soon. The police also later deployed a police force in the Devipura area to maintain law and order. The officials said that teams have been constituted to speed up the investigation process and one accused has already been arrested on Thursday. The remaining accused will be nabbed soon too, as per the police.
