In latest news from Dehradun, some cow vigilantes caught hold of a man who was allegedly transporting banned meat in a pickup van in the Asharori area of the town. Police later arrested the person. Police officers said that they had sent sample of the meat recovered for testing through the help of veterinaries. The incident triggered tension in the area. A section of the locals sloganeered against police.
