In latest news from Doon, a POCSO court awarded rigorous imprisonment for 20 years to a man for outraging the modesty of his minor sister-in-law (14). Additionally, the convict will pay Rs 30,000 as penalty and in case he fails he will have to undergo one month’s additional imprisonment.
The case was lodged at Chakrata police station on September 2, 2022. As per the complaint filed by the survivor’s father, the husband of his eldest daughter had sexually assaulted his youngest daughter in inebriated state at their residence at Lakha Mandal on July 15 when all other members were out with the minor left alone. She disclosed her ordeal after some days as the accused had warned her of dire consequences in case she disclosed.
