A man allegedly killed his wife with a sharp weapon after a domestic dispute in Dalanwala here on Thursday afternoon. Police arrested the husband from the spot after receiving information about the incident. The police said that the accused did not try to escape and remained at the scene after the incident.
The accused was identified as Ramji Pal, while the deceased was identified as Suno Pal. Both were living at the rented house on Mohini Road, Dalanwala. According to the police, the couple had a history of frequent arguments and had another dispute on Thursday afternoon. During the argument, the husband allegedly lost his temper and attacked his wife with a sharp weapon. The police said that the accused later confessed his involvement during questioning.
The incident came to light after the landlord heard screams and screams from the house. The landlord became suspicious and informed the police. The police team which reached the house found the woman dead and then took the accused husband into custody.
The Dalanwala police circle officer Nitin Lohani said that the police are waiting for the post mortem report to establish the exact cause of death and gather further evidence.
Investigation is underway. The accused will be produced before the court as part of the legal proceedings, he said.
