Man sentenced to life seven years after murder

After seven years, the court has sentenced the culprit in the infamous Sajid murder case in Pathri police station area.The additional sessions judge-III, Anirudh Bhatt convicted the accused Deepak in the Sajid murder case and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 21,000.
Government counsel Kushalpal Singh Chauhan said that the matter dates back to October 17, 2015. Deepak stabbed Sajid to death in a dispute over the drainage of water from the house in village Dhanpura. In the case, Sajid’s brother Bhure had filed a murder case against several people including Deepak. Police investigation revealed that there was a dispute between Sajid’s wife and Deepak’s mother Rajesh Devi over the drainage of water from the house. Deepak had also allegedly abused Sajid in this matter. Seeing the dispute escalating, the family members of Sajid and Deepak came to the rescue. However, Deepak attacked Sajid with a knife and injured him.The injured Sajid died on the way while being taken to the hospital. On the other hand, the accused fled from the spot leaving Sajid there in an injured state.
After investigating the case, the police filed a charge sheet against the murder accused Deepak in the court. The police arrested the accused Deepak who was sent to jail. Since then he was lodged in jail. In the case, 16 witnesses were presented on behalf of the plaintiff. After hearing both the sides and on the basis of evidence, the court found Deepak guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 21,000. Along with this, the court also found Deepak guilty of keeping illegal weapons and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and an additional fine of Rs 1,000.
