The Haldwani municipal commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay informed that Ajay Kumar, who had been shot by miscreants when he was returning from the gymnasium has been operated upon successfully. He has been referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for further treatment. He was sent in a free of cost ambulance to AIIMS Rishikesh. The local administration is providing full cooperation to his family members.
The municipal commissioner further informed that a worker of the Municipal Corporation of Haldwani was also injured in the riot on February 8 and that he is being treated at a local hospital. The municipal corporation is providing all necessary support to its personnel and their family members, Upadhyay added.
