In latest news from Uttarakhand, while speaking of the string of development projects being initiated by both the Centre and the State government at a media conference here, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed the confidence that the Kumaon region of the State would secure a distinct identity of its own in the global tourism map following the completion of the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission project involving 26 revered shrines spread across the region. He said that on the lines of the Kedarkhand in the Garhwal region, Manaskhand would be developed as a centre of religious/spiritual tourism which will transform the development landscape of the region, adding that aside from massive road connectivity, heli service would be introduced to ferry pilgrims to the shrines. Averring that about 56 lakh pilgrims have visited the Char Dham this year, the CM said that the pilgrimage had gone off smoothly.
