The pro-chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University, Rajeev Tyagi said that the former Union Minister, renowned environmentalist and the chairperson of People for Animals, Maneka Gandhi would visit the university in May. He met the BJP leader at her residence in New Delhi on Thursday and they discussed in detail about various programmes being run by the university, including those meant for the care and protection of stray animals.
Giri further said that Gandhi had appreciated the initiative and said that a unit of PFA would be set up in the university in May.
Expressing happiness over Gandhi’s gesture, the chairman of the Venkateshwara group of institutions, Sudhir Giri said that they would lend full support to her mission in every way.
