A number of Congress office bearers and leaders from Haridwar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the party’s State office in the presence of the party’s State president Mahendra Bhatt, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Sunday. Welcoming them to the party, the chief minister exhorted them to cooperate in developing a divine and grand Haridwar along with an ideal Uttarakhand.

Greeting those who joined the party, the BJP State president assured that their sentiments and thoughts will be respected. “The number of those impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and joining the BJP is consistently increasing. PM Modi and CM Dhami are working as guardians to ensure that the benefit of public welfare works reaches even the last person in society,” said Bhatt.

Addressing the gathering at the event, Dhami said that the new inclusions will further strengthen the party organisation. This will also help in communicating information about the works of the government to the public. Earlier, while informing about the anti-conversion and women reservation bills passed recently in the Vidhan Sabha, the chief minister said that all should make efforts towards having a developed, prosperous and safe Uttarakhand.

Speaking on the occasion, Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that those joining the party are warriors of their own areas and their inclusion in the BJP will strengthen the organisation to the ground level. He said that today they have become members of the world’s biggest party and political family where importance is accorded to what is being said by each person.

Those who left the Congress to join the BJP include former organisation secretary of Congress, Dharmpal Singh, councillor Anuj Singh, Rajan Mehta, Shubham Bharadwaj, Rajkumari, Mahendra Singh Khatana and others.
