The virus of Covid-19 is taking its toll on the health of saints who have arrived in Haridwar for Kumbh. It is learnt that a large number of saints belonging to different Akharas have been infected with the disease. The President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP), Narendra Giri was shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Monday night after his condition deteriorated.
Giri was tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday and he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. The doctors treating him said that the condition of Giri is stable and he is admitted in the IPD of the hospital. The president of the ABAP is a patient of diabetes and is showing symptoms of fever and cough.
