The State Cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat announced that a marine drive elevated road would soon be constructed at Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal. He had recently met the Union minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi.

Rawat said that before travelling to Lakshadweep, he had discussed the proposed marine drive elevated road project in detail with the Union minister. “Several aspects of the project, including construction, technical specifications and implementation, figured in the meeting. The Union minister gave me a positive assurance while committing his support to expedite things,” he said.

According to Rawat, the elevated road will significantly reduce traffic congestion in Srinagar, enhance the transportation system and contribute to environmental protection. Additionally, it is expected to boost tourism and economic development in the region.

During the meeting, Rawat invited Gadkari to participate in the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. “He accepted the invite,” he added.
