Martyr Dobhal cremated with state honours
BSF sub inspector (SI) Dobhal had died in the exchange of fire at LoC in Baramula of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday
The mortal remains of martyr Rakesh Dobhal were cremated with full state honours at his home town Rishikesh on Monday. Dhobal, a Sub Inspector (SI) in the Border Security Force (BSF) had died in the exchange of fire at Line of Control (LoC) in Baramula sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The body of the martyr was brought to the Ganesh Vihar, Ganganagar residence on Monday morning.
Large number of people from all walks of life participated in the last journey of Dobhal which started from his residence and ended at Poornanand Ghat in Muni Ki Reti. When Molly, the 10 year old daughter of Dobhal saluted the body of his father wrapped in the Tricolour and shouted ‘Jai hind’ everyone present was deeply moved. The markets from where the last journey of the martyr passed remain closed as a mark of respect and people threw floral petals as the vehicle carrying body of Dobhal moved forward. The younger brother of the martyr lit the funeral pyre of Dobhal. The education minister, Arvind Pandey attended the funeral as the representative of Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat. The speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha and local MLA Prem Chand Agarwal, Rishikesh Mayor Anita Mamgai and senior officers of BSF and administration also offered their tributes.
