Martyr Rawat cremated with military honours

Lance Naik Ruchin Singh Rawat who was martyred recently during Operation Trinetra in Jammu and Kashmir was cremated at his ancestral cremation ground with military honours on Sunday. Thousands of people gathered to pay their last respects to Rawat who was part of the 9th contingent of the Para unit involved in Operation Trinetra against terrorists in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. He attained martyrdom during the operation on Friday
Earlier during the day, the locals showered flowers en route as his body was brought to Gairsain. The people raised slogans hailing the martyr and the nation as the vehicle carrying his mortal remains passed by. The arrival of his body at his native village resulted in an emotional scene. He has left behind a wife and a four-year-old son along with his parents and grandparents.
Rawat’s family members and multitudes of locals paid their last repsects to Rawat when his body was brought to this native village of Kunigad at Gairsain in Chamoli district. His mortal remains were then taken to the cremation ground where thousands gathered to pay their respects to the martyr. The area resounded with slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Shaheed Ruchin Singh Amar Rahe’ raised by the multitudes who had gathered there on the occasion.
