Martyr Sanjay Singh Bisht cremated with full honours

Lance Naik Sanjay Singh Bisht from 9 Para (Special Forces) who was martyred in an anti-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday was cremated in Nainital on Friday. His body was brought in a helicopter which landed at the Sainik School, Ghodakhal helipad. From there, his body was taken in a procession will military honours with multitudes participating in the procession to pay their tributes to the martyred soldier.
A large number of people accompanied the procession to his home in Ratighat. The crows were raising slogans ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Sanjay Amar Rahe’. His body wrapped in the Tricolour was brought in an army vehicle to his home. Thousands of people reached his residence to pay their last respects to the brave soldier who had made the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland. From his home, the funeral procession covered a distance of about one kilometre to the banks of the Shipra river. His body was cremated with military honours.
It is pertinent to mention here that the son of Diwan Singh Bisht, Sanjay Singh Bisht was posted as a Lance Naik in the 9 Para (Special Forces). Villagers in Kalakot area in Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir had informed the armed forces about terrorist activity in the jungle of Gulabgarh. Acting on the information, the armed forces began a combing operation. According to army sources, the soldiers encountered terrorists during this special operation. Bisht made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting the terrorists during this special operation.
During his cremation in Nainital, senior officers of the army, police, district administration and a large number of locals were also present along with the family members.
