Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ on Thursday directed the senior officials of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) and associated agencies to finish the ongoing work under Smart City projects by June 30 before the onset of monsoon in the city. He stated this in a review meeting of the ongoing work of smart city projects being carried out in the city. He asked the officials to commence digging for drain construction or any other associated work on the road only after completing the previous construction work. He asked them to increase the number of labourers to ensure works related to drains are completed soon before monsoon.
The mayor asked the officials to establish coordination among themselves to prepare an action plan for issues they face during the work. He also said in the meeting that the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) officials often leave electricity poles on sites that can potentially cause accidents. He directed the UPCL executive engineer to inform the officials concerned responsible for the installation of cables on poles for the proper execution of work or remove both poles and cables from the site rather than leaving them there. He also directed the officials concerned to remove the slab from the drain from the stretch from Niranjanpur to ISBT while ensuring it gets cleaned immediately. He directed them to finish the work of construction or repairing work of drains within a week in the area.
