Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ inaugurated the pilot project of tactical urbanism exercise executed near Survey Chowk under the child friendly city scheme of the Dehradun smart city project near Survey Chowk on Friday.
Unde the tactical urbanism exercise, various aspects of the roads including footpaths, intersections, roadsigns and streetlights among others are used as necessary elements for providing safe and convenient traffic especially for children, women, senior citizens and the differently abled. Under the child friendly city scheme, smart roads are being accorded a new form to make them conducive for children especially school students. The attempt is to construct roads from the perspective of children to make their commute between home and school safe and simple.
The pilot project on a footpath of East Canal Road near Survey Chowk includes aspects like painting the footpath in colourful patterns.
