MCD charges penalties on dumping construction materials on roads
The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has started to penalise those residents who use public roads to store construction materials. The municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has formed teams to penalise such residents who use public roads as storing space for the construction materials like sand and bricks.
On Thursday, the MCD collected a penalty of Rs 53,500 collectively from 11 residents of Rajpur Road and Kishanpur area and seized the construction materials of some locals too. According to Pandey, such encroachments on public roads can cause a traffic jam and accidents and therefore, the officials have been instructed to penalise and seize the construction materials.
